Links I Like
I have had the absolute pleasure of working with other wedding
services as well as servicing the couples myself. Here are some of the
links to the websites of the places and people that I felt not only did
their job well, but acted as if the couple they were dealing with at
the time, were the only couple in the world.

Vow Renewals
Has it been 50 years already? Is it 10 years? 25? Or is it just time to remember and celebrate your love? A vow renewal ceremony can be just about the two of you, or about all the lives that you’ve touched along the way. It can be a private affair or a gala!
Joseph and Catherine Sanicola had a gala affair for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. All their family and many, many friends were present. We began the ceremony by having all their children and their children’s spouses and their children’s children standing around them and facing their guests. The presentation began with, “this is what love has created…”
On a more simple note, here is an example of a 50th Anniversary celebrated in the warmth and comfort of home. Marion and Warren Rupp’s daughter, Carol, emailed me and said,
“Hi Reverend Laura! I hope all is well for you. I am writing to ask a tremendous favor…. On August 19th, my family is having a small (10 people) 50th. Anniversary dinner for my parents…. it's at my house instead of the restaurant. I live on … St., literally 2 minutes from the place .The dinner is later in the evening and I think it would be more relaxed here…. It is basically immediate family. My older sister, her 3 children, Dawn and two of my friends that my parents consider bonus children.
We stood in Carol’s living room. It was decorated delicately with candles, just enough to give a romantic ambience to our ceremony. There was champagne on ice in the kitchen.
Each child, grandchild and friend spoke of their love and connection to the couple that stood before me. I spoke of the love that was still so evident in their eyes and in the touch of their hands. They repeated vows of unending love and a promise to love and live another 50 years! Then, after final blessings, they sealed the moment with a kiss and we all applauded. Tears flowed and champagne was poured and Marion and Warren were permanently etched in our minds as a reminder of all that love can be.
For a Golden Anniversary, you may want me to explain that a marriage is so much more than just the two people that say, “I do”. What starts out as a loving couple turns into a loving family which expands into friends that become extended family and so on and so on. Couples create communities. Within my own family, when we celebrated my parents 50th, I noticed three generations of friends and family that would not have known each other or had anything in common except for the love of the two that brought us all together in the first place.
Renewing your vows can come at any stage of your relationship. Some renew after just one year, while still others choose the 10th or 20th anniversary. Each couple has their own reason and their own story. When you call, we will make your story come to life!
Over the years, I have been called upon to assist in the celebration of many different types of occasions. Here's one that is becoming more popular.
Have you ever considered a ‘Croning Ceremony’ for an elder you love and admire? A Grandmother who has not been honored for all of her worth? A woman of wisdom that you would like to give thanks to in a formal fashion, because a simple thank you is not enough? Croning Ceremonies are a personalized gift of Love and Recognition that are too often not expressed. A woman’s worth is a celebration of the Heart, Mind and Spirit.
At a Croning, we may have two or more generations of women attending. Each person having their own story to tell of the one who is being honored. A Grandmother to one may be the lover of another. She is someone’s mother as well as the keeper of her home. She has a best friend that she has shared her deepest life with. She may have a career or had a career that helped to raise her family.
A Crone has lived a lifetime of memories that can be ritualized and cherished. Together we can find out what is important to the woman in your life that you are celebrating.
We can make her dreams of recognition come true in an event that will bring all those who attend memories to last a life time.
House Blessings, Blessings for the future, Wellness Blessings,
A Blessing for your Pets, or any other area of your life that you welcome the Divine to be witness of.
Let your dreams become a reality.
This is how we will begin. A first phone call will allow us an initial introduction. We’ll talk about your needs and desires. You’ll get to know me and I’ll be asking you a few questions. You’ll be able to ask about pricing and I’ll be able to ask what is so special about the occasion that you wish to create a ceremony for. In just a few moments we’ll decide if we should meet. We’ll arrange a time and date that is convenient and before we hang up, if you are the type of person that wants to go further with your research, I will recommend some reading material that will help you tap into the ‘how to’ of designing your ceremony.
I look forward to our first phone call or email. Please contact me, Reverend Laura Tria at (631) 666-0078 or email me at info@customizedceremonies.com
There are as many reasons to have a formal ceremony as there are individual experiences.
